The RSA Customer Reference Program consists of a broad range of activities with one aim - to showcase how best-practice security is one of the essential dynamics that drives business innovation.

Customer Roundtable featuring We Energies Fraud costs the utility and telecom industries billions of dollars every year. Identity thieves often try to connect or reconnect services by assuming a false name or identity. Listen again to Kurt Roussell, Manager of Revenue Protection at We Energies, and Joram Borenstein of RSA, the Security Division of EMC, in a roundtable telephone discussion. Kurt Roussell discussed the challenges We Energies faced including the need to lower fraudulent activity whilst improving client satisfaction. He also explained how, by implementing RSA's Knowledge-Based Authentication technology, We Energies was able to decrease the number of customers receiving unauthorized service, protect their resources & revenue while offering the best rates to their customers because of the overall increase in ROI. We Energies serves more than 1.1 million electric customers in Wisconsin and Michigan's Upper Peninsula and more than one million natural gas customers in Wisconsin. The fraud prevention challenges they faced are ones encountered today by many industries, including telecommunications and cable providers, and energy and other utilities.
